In a letter addressed to the head of the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq, the head of the judiciary called for speeding up the investigation, trial and punishment of the perpetrators of the assassination of Lieutenant General Hajj Qassem Soleimani and his companions.

According to the General Directorate of Public Relations of the Judiciary, Hojjatul-Islam wal-Muslimin Mohseni Ajeei, in a letter to Faiq Zeidan, the head of the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq, while expressing his satisfaction with holding three rounds of negotiations of the joint investigation committee between the judicial authorities of the two countries, shows the results of this joint cooperation. He expressed the will of the two countries to fight terrorism, establish justice, maintain peace and security, and expand friendly relations, especially bilateral judicial cooperation.

The Head of the Judiciary emphasized that the assassination of Lieutenant General Hajj Qassem Soleimani, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and 8 of their companions by the American statesmen and their representatives in Iraq is contrary to international peace and security, and added: This terrorist act leads to the violation The sovereignty of the two countries, the well-known principles of international law, as well as the violation of international obligations regarding the protection of official figures have been supported internationally.

Hojjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimin Mohseni Ajei stated: Although this terrorist act was carried out by the president of the United States with the participation of some officials and other countries, their positions do not prevent responsibility and punishment, and the measures initiated in the Iraqi judicial system also show the determination And the will of that country is to arrest, try and punish these criminals.

The head of the judicial system further reminded: the requirement for justice is to comply with the principle of speed in proceedings. Considering that the mentioned terrorist act took place in Iraq and more than two years have passed since its occurrence, issuing an order to speed up the investigation, trial and punishment of the perpetrators of this crime is requested by the people of Iran. In this regard, the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran is still ready to continue cooperation with the judicial system of the Republic of Iraq.

In the end, Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Mohseni Ajaei prayed for success and pride from the Almighty God for the government and nation, a friend and brother of the Republic of Iraq.
