Female employees of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, returned to work wearing Islamic hijab.

The management of Kabul International Airport, which had been under Taliban control since August 31 following the complete withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, is returning to normal, Sputnik reports quoting Fararu.

According to Kabul airport officials, about 30 women were employed in various parts of the airport. This number is expected to reach 60 in the coming days.

These women are serving in the inspection, border police, technical and service departments.

Maulvi Abdul Hadi Hamdan, director of Kabul Airport, said: “Women can work by observing the Islamic hijab, and former employees have also been invited.”

Noting that the Taliban have asked all former government employees to return to their jobs, he added: “We also call on all former airport staff to return to work.” Our airport staff is up and running on a regular basis.

“We are happy to be back at work,” said one female employee, who did not want to be named. We call on the Taliban to solve our rights problem.
