Lack of funds has become an obstacle to cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts

Fars news agency community group; Naimah Mohed: The figure of 31 thousand 291 billion tomans for cultural heritage, Kurdish agriculture and handicrafts in the budget of 1402 caused many people to protest and criticize in this area. Deputy Minister Ali Darabi was one of the first to protest against the low growth of this budget, who stated in a note that last year only 35% of the budget of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage was allocated to this ministry, and now even if 100% of the budget is allocated in In 1402, again, nothing was done by the deputy of cultural heritage.
The budget of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts consists of two parts. One is the cost section for which the 1402 budget estimate is 12,584 billion tomans, and the other is the acquisition of assets as the ministry’s capital, which is estimated at 17,584 billion tomans.
Cost credits and acquisition of capital assets are estimated at 12,700 billion tomans in the cultural heritage season, 4,000 billion tomans in the tourism season, and 52 billion tomans in the handicrafts season. In the 1402 budget bill, the income from the entrance of museums and historical sites is estimated at 1.910 million tomans.
Darabi says that the deputy of cultural heritage, which has all its duties and missions, is “sovereign”. Currently, it needs 8 thousand billion tomans for the acquisition of buildings, 1000 billion tomans for the historical tissues of Yazd for restoration and flood damage, and 5 thousand billion tomans for the restoration of historical monuments, of which 2 thousand billion tomans are in arrears.
He also wrote in his note: The ministry has 1000 billion tomans of travel obligations of the honorable government delegation and the demands of the honorable members of parliament and provincial officials in the field of cultural heritage, which is 15 thousand billion tomans.
Many other cultural heritage officials also believe that this budget does not cover the expenses of this ministry, which is related to culture and national identity. Abbas Fatemi; The secretary of the festival of the first multimedia productions of cultural heritage told reporters at the press conference of the festival: the budget that was considered for cultural heritage in 1402 is less than 10% of our real needs, and with this budget, it may take a hundred years to restore a historical monument.
Cultural heritage is an area whose trustees claim that if the government supports it comprehensively, it will take the place of oil income for the country. In the 7th development plan, the development of the tourism industry and the promotion of handicrafts have been discussed as a general policy and upstream document.
On the other hand, the tourism situation in our country is not growing much despite the presence of unique attractions. The past years and the outbreak of the Corona disease have also hit this industry.
In addition to these, it is also reported from the corners of the ancient and historical cities of the country that some of their historical monuments are under destruction. These destructions happen either because of development plans or because of neglect and wear and tear of buildings. Cultural heritage experts believe that a proper budget is necessary to register the historical buildings and restore them and to save them from destruction.
Iran’s handicrafts are excellent in terms of diversity. These works are the basis for the introduction of the culture and art of our country, as well as the livelihood of its artists, and for this reason, they need special attention to be seen at the national and global level, and even register the name of our country globally, all of which require considering sufficient budget. It is for these matters.
