According to the judicial reporter of Fars news agency, Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, told reporters about the latest status of negotiations regarding the lifting of sanctions: While we were preparing for the new phase of negotiations in recent weeks, suddenly the American side took an action. Illogically, with the aim of gaining points at the negotiating table, the International Atomic Energy Agency proposed a draft resolution.
He continued: During these days, we received several messages through an intermediary from Mr. Biden regarding his good intentions to reach an agreement, but suddenly we witnessed the issuance of this resolution!
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated: I announced my reciprocating and decisive answer to the American side. In the last week, the coordinator of the European Union presented an initiative and sent a text to the four plus one countries, and all the parties in the capitals are reviewing this text and we have an agreement to meet at the negotiating table in Vienna. A new resolution was issued by the United States.
Amir Abdullahian pointed out: these illogical measures and the madness of ineffective sanctions that Mr. Biden repeatedly pointed out that Trump’s maximum sanctions have failed. Also, in the beginning of the text he sent, the European Union coordinator mentioned the failure of Trump’s maximum sanctions, however, we are witnessing the madness of applying sanctions, which of course is just a show and has no tangible impact on the ground.
He went on to say: In response to this American action, we started gassing hundreds of new generation centrifuges last night. Americans should not think that they can gain points at the negotiating table with these actions, America should put aside its ambitions. We are people of negotiation and logic, and we are serious about reaching a good, strong and stable, but if the American side wants to continue these actions, we will never be closed hands.
Regarding the recent developments in Iraq, Amir Adalahian said: Iraqi leaders have the necessary competence and tact to solve the problem that has arisen in Iraq. Any internal conflict in Iraq is a red line for the Iraqi authorities, the important role of authority, which has always been a savior in Iraq, is the most important factor in getting out of the current problem inside Iraq.
