According to Fars news agency, on the occasion of the 10th of Fajr and the 44th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the first car repair shop for women was opened at the hydrologist technical examination center in west Tehran.
Shadi Maliki, the CEO of the technical inspection headquarters of Tehran vehicles, in explaining this new approach and setting up the first repair shop unit for women, said: Currently, the technical inspection center of hydrologists accepts 700 vehicles daily in the first visit, of which about 180 vehicles are in the test. The technical examinations are rejected and they need to go to the repair department to fix the problem. About 30% of the cars with technical defects, i.e. 55 cars, belong to women. The survey conducted in the technical examination centers of Tehran shows that a large part of the women who refer to the repair department of the centers in order to comply with the standards, ease of communication and feel more security and trust have the desire to use a work space reserved for women. Therefore, in this direction, the technical inspection headquarters has taken action as an initial plan to establish and launch a special repair center for women in one of the technical inspection centers in west Tehran, and in the next steps, after achieving the best model for its development in all Tehran technical examination centers will take action.
Explaining the characteristics of this repair shop, he added: All the repairmen of this repair unit are expert women, and in this repair shop, we have tried to provide all fast general car services, such as oil change and brake inspection, to female clients. It should be mentioned that these repair units, in addition to providing services to the center’s visitors, are also free for the use of women and their operating hours are planned to be longer than the center’s working hours.
Maliki further emphasized the importance of creating a safe space in serving ladies and added: This new approach has been planned with two specific goals. First of all, it is to respond to the needs of women and facilitate the provision of appropriate services to them, and secondly, for Creating employment and entrepreneurship for talented and interested women in this field has been done in a suitable environment.
