He added: “Despite the claim of the Syndicate of Production of Raw Materials and Packaging Supplies, based on supplying more than 71% of the needs of the total domestic market, the amount of Rial supply of the domestic production industry from the total market of raw materials of medicines and packaging supplies in 99, 23.1% and It is 25.2% in terms of volume; Instead of focusing on the supply of vital and essential drugs, the industry of active pharmaceutical materials has tended to supply best-selling active ingredients based on economic indicators, to the extent that 55% of the molecules produced are in the category of non-essential drugs.

The representative of the Food and Drug Administration also stated that the high price of active ingredients in domestic production compared to imported active ingredients is one of the things that has always been protested by drug manufacturers and has led them to import.

Soltani said: the ratio of the price of active ingredients of domestic production to similar imported materials during 1398 and 1399, is more than 2 times.
