Meet the new Arlo security system

Arlo unveiled the imminent introduction of its much-anticipated home security system at CES 2022 this week, and the product was even honored as the winner of the CES 2022 Innovation Award. The company, known for its high-quality smart security cameras, also announced its support for Matter, indicating that Matter specifications for security cameras are not far off.

DIY security monitoring solution is a natural development for a company that has a complete set of home security cameras. So natural that it announced one at CES 2019. While that product was never released, Arlo’s latest security system is a complete redesign. It features signature, new, versatile multiple sensors with eight different functions, plus NFC integrated into the hub so users can disable the system by tapping their phone. Arlo says the system will be available for purchase in the first half of 2022.

According to the company, the versatile sensors are able to detect movement, openings and slopes of doors / windows, water leaks, light / temperature changes, and can listen to smoke and CO warnings. The small, lightweight multisensor is 1.1 inches wide and runs on batteries. The sensors are powered by an Arlo security modular “hub” that acts as a central controller with an internal alarm, a smoke / CO alarm sensor and an integrated backlit keyboard. It also has NFC technology to enable the knock feature to open / disarm.

However, no details were available as to what exactly these mergers include. We also do not know the price of the system or need to subscribe to Arlo Secure. My guess is that using the system is costly, although there does not seem to be a professional monitoring option at the moment.
