Message of condolences from the Deputy Minister of Handicrafts following the death of the pioneer potter

According to the Aria Heritage Report, quoted by the General Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Ministry of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts, Pouya Mahmoudian’s message of condolence reads:

“we are for God and we return to him

Masters and veterans of Iranian handicrafts and traditional arts are considered the most valuable artistic assets of this region, who have always kept this blazing flame alive by teaching the theoretical foundations and scientific techniques of these arts to the younger generation.

The late Professor Gholamreza Faizollahi was one of the pioneers in the field of pottery, a professor that many current professors were proud to be students of and follow. The absence of such an artist is certainly a tragic loss for the community of handicrafts and traditional arts.

“I offer my condolences to the family of the deceased and all the artists of handicrafts and traditional arts for this great loss, and for the soul of that dear artist, I ask God Almighty for peace and divine forgiveness.”

Gholamreza Feizollahi was born in Isfahan in 1940 and entered the field of pottery at the age of ten. He had a first degree in art from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and worked in the field of pottery and shrine construction for a long time.

Making the enamel of the door and the shrine of Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib (AS), Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abolfazl (AS) have been some of the activities of this artist. He also received the seal of authenticity from UNESCO in 1373 in the field of pottery.

The late Professor Gholamreza Feizollahi died this morning in Milad Hospital due to a kidney complication.
