Mohammad Eslami: Iran does not go beyond 60% enrichment – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said in an interview with Sputnik: Tehran does not intend to increase the level of uranium enrichment to more than 60%.

“If the two sides can not return to the 2015 agreement, will Iran go beyond 60% uranium enrichment,” he said.

Eslami further emphasized: The purpose of Iran’s nuclear program is to meet the country’s needs in the field of industrial production and also to meet the needs of domestic consumers in the field of some special goods.

He added: “All Iran’s nuclear activities are carried out in accordance with the agreements, statutes and laws of the International Atomic Energy Agency.”

Eslami continued: Borjam’s understanding document is only for building trust. This agreement is for the lifting of sanctions, and if the sanctions are not to be lifted and they seek to stop Iran’s nuclear industry, we will never accept it.

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran emphasized: “In no way do we accept people who have clear and obvious backgrounds and it is clear that they have been agents of foreign services as inspectors of the IAEA.”

“Iran can now supply the nuclear fuel it needs,” Islami said. We are negotiating with Russia Atom and we hope to be able to start using Iranian fuel in the heart of the Bushehr reactor as part of our cooperation.

He continued: in the coming days, unit number one of Bushehr nuclear power plant will be put into orbit. The target for the construction of new power plants is 10,000 MW, which we have planned, the development of nuclear power plants is one of the basic strategies of Iran, and the systems against cyber attacks in our power plants are safe.

Eslami continued: “Compared to the initial schedule, the construction of the second and third units of Bushehr power plant is 23 months behind.” We expect Russia Atom to accelerate the implementation of the project as well as the compensation plan. Regarding the third unit, soil reinforcement operations are underway for concreting the foundation.

Islamic statements about not increasing the level of enrichment to more than 60%, while the Zionist regime recently claimed that enrichment in Iran is done up to 90%.

Reacting to this claim, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said: “We have 5% enrichment (in Iran), we have 20% enrichment, we have 60% enrichment, which is very high, and between 60% and 90%, small steps.” There is a gap and there are concerns, but we have no information about 90% uranium enrichment.
