Monopoly of Google and Apple in mobile browsers

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority announced in June that it would support an investigation into the market penetration of Apple and Google’s mobile browsers and how cloud gaming is restricted through Apple’s App Store.

According to Aetna from ISNA, Sarah Cardell, the acting director of the UK Competition Watch, said in a statement: Many businesses and web designers in the UK told us that they feel that the restrictions set by Apple and Google have held them back. We intend to investigate and find out if the concerns we have heard are true, and if so, take steps to improve competition and innovation in these sectors.

In response to this regulator’s plan, Google had previously announced that it would continue to cooperate with the British Competition Watch.
According to a Reuters report, Apple said it would engage constructively with Britain’s competition watchdog to explain how its approach promotes competition and choice and ensures protection of consumer privacy and security.
