Necessity of full implementation of “Kahab” project in fuel stations/intensification of dealing with vehicles without technical inspection and smoke emitting vehicles

According to Fars News Agency, in the “Clean Air Law” meeting chaired by Minister of Interior Vahidi, the Environmental Protection Organization, the Deputy Civil Engineer, Development of Urban and Rural Affairs, the Program and Budget Organization, the Ministry of Petroleum, the Ministry of Safety, the Ministry of Energy, the Tehran Governorate, Tehran Municipality , and the organization of municipalities and villages across the country presented their performance report in implementing the Clean Air Law.
In this meeting, it was decided that Tehran Governorate will take action and report these meetings on a continuous basis regarding the holding of monthly meetings of the working group for the implementation of the Clean Air Law, related regulations and instructions specific to the city of Tehran, with the presence of the plenipotentiary representatives of the executive bodies of the province and with the secretary of the General Environment Department of the province. The Ministry of Energy’s presentation of the timetable for the full implementation of the Kehab project (reduction, diversion, transfer and recycling of gasoline vapors) in stations, transport tankers and fuel tanks in Tehran province was one of the other issues discussed in the clean air law meeting. It was especially emphasized that this ministry, together with the corresponding provincial institutions, should announce the fuel consumption plan of its power plants in Tehran and Alborz provinces on a monthly basis to the Ministry of Interior and the Environmental Protection Organization.
Also, in the continuation of this meeting, the Ministry of Oil and its provincial subordinate bodies were obliged to send the plan of how to distribute fuel from fixed and mobile sources in Tehran and Alborz provinces to the Ministry of Interior and Tehran Governorate within one month.
The need to reduce the use of private cars until the end of the emergency situation of air pollution in Tehran was another focus of this meeting, and in this regard, the municipality of Tehran was tasked to reduce the price of tickets for public transport within the city by 50%, buses and city trains.
Examining the duties of the ministry of privacy was another agenda item of the clean air law meeting, and in this regard, considering the important role of gas-powered buses in reducing the amount of air pollutants, the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade should provide the necessary grounds for the production and delivery of 5,000 gas-powered inner-city buses up to The end of 1402 provided for the cities of Tehran province from the place of domestic production or import.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the traffic police of Tehran city should also intensify the handling of cars that do not have technical inspection and emit smoke, and in cooperation with Tehran Municipality and Road Traffic and Road Transport Organization, as in previous years, by forming mobile teams to control the technical inspection of heavy fleets. .
Due to the conflict of some big cities in the country with the air pollution phenomenon, it was decided that the senior managers of these big cities should also be present in the meeting to present a report in the next meetings.
