Neither Eastern nor Western, the third model of Iranian Muslim woman / Nayreh Qawi: الگو The basis for drawing a model for women is monotheism

Life group: With the victory of the Islamic Revolution and the progress and promotion of the status of women in the country, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has repeatedly stated that Iranian Muslim women can be a third model for the world and this model should be offered to women in other countries. In line with these statements of the leadership, we held a roundtable with the presence of Dr. Nayreh Ghoy, a faculty member of the Institute of Islamic Culture and Education, to explain the need for a Muslim woman to be a role model.

Dr. Qawi first referred to the words of the Supreme Leader: In 1991, the Supreme Leader discussed the third model of women. Earlier, she and Imam Khomeini, may God have mercy on them, spoke in their speeches about the role model of the Muslim woman and Hazrat Zahra Marzieh. But it is only possible that we can present a third model to the world by saying no to the East and the West. That female role models be introduced, protected and recognized. In the Congress of 7,000 Women Martyrs, we have women, each of whose characteristics is rightly spoken and heard and can be a model in itself.

Regarding the history of modeling in Islam, he says: Islam can be a role model for both men and women! In fact, Islam is a role model for human beings, and in the definition of Islam, human beings are both men and women.

Nayreh Qawi goes on to explain: The Qur’an when it wants to state the issue of patterns. He cites both the masculine and the masculine gender of Prophet Yusuf as chaste and the Prophet Mary as a chaste lady. Certainly the Lord who is the Creator and who sets the best plans for man has a purpose for these patterns.

This religious expert states God’s purpose in setting an example for both sexes: In fact, God intentionally introduces a model for both sexes so that we Muslims know that being a model is not a characteristic of one sex but a human being, and every human being, including Men and women can set and practice a religion program for themselves to have the characteristic of being a role model.

Neither Eastern nor Western, the third model of Iranian Muslim women!

Explaining the third model of a Muslim woman who has borrowed from the words of the Supreme Leader, a member of the faculty of the Institute of Islamic Culture and Education says: Is not Western! In the first stage, we must understand what are the characteristics of the other two models of the Eastern and Western model, which they deny.

Oriental thought and a woman who is always on the sidelines!

Dr. Qawi goes on to say: It seems that the rejection of the Eastern model is due to the fact that in Eastern thought, women have never been in the text and have been marginalized. This contradicts the marginalization of women with Islam, and we in Islam see women in the context of society. According to the Supreme Leader, women in the East are always marginalized and have never been a historian. So the first side of our pattern in the third pattern is history-making.

West and women in the service of propaganda!

Nayreh Qawi knows the reason for rejecting the Western model as follows: But why does the Imam reject the Western model !? He argues that woman in the West is a creature whose gender has overcome her humanity. Because it is a woman, it is used in advertising. Because she is a woman, she is considered by the capitalists. Because she is a woman, her beauty is used as a tool.

“Women are active in the Western perspective, but activism is associated with extremism,” he said. In the West, women spend their social activism on capitalist propaganda. The worst and worst things and everything that is put up for sale is sold using a tool called woman. For this reason, attention is paid to his gender before paying attention to his thoughts and spirit.

This theologian describes the characteristics of the third model as follows: So we noticed two negative characteristics that are based on the Supreme Leader’s system of thought. The woman should not make history and be marginalized and her gender should not overcome her humanity. The third pattern should be the opposite of these two features!

The template must work

Referring to the basis and source of the third model of Muslim women, Dr. Qawi says: The model always needs a content base and text from which the form of the model can be extracted. In ideological discussions, when a person chooses a pattern, that is, he wants to be like him in terms of behavior, actions and functions. The template must work. The pattern regulates human behavior. But this behavior alone is not enough and must be based on a basis and an idea in order for this model to be recognized as a desirable model.

“When we look at the third model of women in the speeches of the Supreme Leader and Imam Khomeini and Islam,” Nayreh Qawi continued. We realize that our basis in drawing the pattern should be monotheism and our pattern should be based on monotheism.

God gave women an identity with Surah Kawthar

This religious expert, referring to the Holy Quran, continues the discussion of the model of women and says: God says in the verses of Surah Jumu’ah that because the world was in error, we sent Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family. Incidentally, this misguidance is the same pattern of East and West that were ideologically misguided. The East was caught in the error of Ahuramazda and the devil, and the West was caught up in the idea of a trinity.

He goes on to say: At the same time, God, by revealing the smallest surah to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), condemns the idea of the anonymity of women in the East and the West. Women in the East did not have any social, family or individual rights. Even in the Arab ignorance, women did not have the right to life and had to be buried alive, and if they survived, they were taken captive and enslaved. According to the Westerners, she was also a woman of the second sex, who, of course, later rebelled against this idea.

Nayreh Qawi goes on to point out that God identifies women in the society of ignorance: In such a society, God says, “I am the bestower of al-Kawthar.” Looking at this verse, we see that God emphasizes this and swears by the word Anna, and then uses the word Atinak. The Arabs use this word for a creature who is very honorable and respected. God has used Anzalna for rain, whose existence is vital, and for the Qur’an, which is very sacred, but for women, Kowsar, and Hazrat Zahra, to end the false culture of the East and the West and to present a new model.

A model that provides a good lifestyle for women

A member of the faculty of the Institute of Islamic Culture and Education says: The monotheistic sources for drawing the third model of a Muslim woman will be taken from the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt. In one of his orders, the Supreme Leader says that if women in society follow the Qur’an, many of society’s problems will be solved. Therefore, our model has its basis and source, which is the book and tradition of the Ahl al-Bayt. Using it, we can find the do’s and don’ts of the model in drawing the third model of a Muslim woman. Hazrat Zahra Marzieh is an objective example based on a monotheistic view. This model is supposed to give a good lifestyle to Muslim women.

Nayreh Qawi continues: What should a revolutionary Muslim woman do in order to be both a role model and a role model ?! The martyr’s wives, the martyr’s children, the martyr’s mothers, the martyr’s followers have this art that both models and models, and we must continue this cycle. Therefore, the Iranian-revolutionary Muslim woman must consider the lifestyle of the Muslim community with a civilizing look.

Women who make history!

Regarding strong women’s history-making, Dr. Qawi states: Women can play a role in history-making in two ways, directly and indirectly. The history of women happened directly in the Karbala incident. Hazrat Zainab, peace be upon him, fought like a warrior. She led the caravan. The mothers of the martyrs have a direct role in making history in educating their children. On the other hand, the wives of the martyrs, who encourage the martyr to jihad and run the house after his departure, have an indirect role in making history. The woman historian opens a new path before the eyes of the world. Today, Iranian Muslim women make history. The turning point in the history of Hazrat Zahra, peace be upon her, is.

Women should be proud of their identity

“Women must find their identity,” says Nayreh Qawi. Far from the East and West model, she should be proud of being a woman and consider it a privilege. She is a child, but we mean that the wife is the lord of the house. Of course, in addition to playing this role, women are not prohibited from acting socially and politically. Incidentally, if he does this job well, his wife and child will be with him.
He continues: The third model of a Muslim woman should be a historian and avoid the model of the East and the West. In addition to playing the role of mother and wife well, she should also be a social, political and cultural activist.
“Those who explain this model should be optimistic and hope that it is possible for us in the Islamic world and in the world to shout loudly that the model of the Eastern and Western women is the model,” Nayreh Qawi concluded. It is rejected, and the model of the revolutionary Muslim woman can be generalized to the world of humanity. Because it preserves the identity of the woman and gives her the opportunity to play a role, and allows her to be present in the dimension of thinking, and not to show off her body! The Supreme Leader believes that the bulk of this modeling should be done by women themselves.
