New American sanctions against Iran – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, quoted by Al Jazeera, the US Treasury announced new sanctions against Tehran in continuation of its anti-Iranian policies.
According to this report, the US Department of Treasury announced that the new sanctions against Iran have targeted what the ministry claimed to be “factors in the production and transfer of Iranian drones to Russia”.
Shahid Aviation Research Company, Emirati companies “Success Aviation” and “iJet Global” have been included in this list with the claim of producing and facilitating the transfer of Iranian drones.
According to the announcement of the US Treasury Department, the Russian company “Wagner”, the Air Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Quds Air Industries were also added to the sanctions list according to Executive Order No. 14024.
Also, two Russian citizens, who were allegedly involved in the delivery of Iranian drones to Wagner, were blacklisted.
Meanwhile, both Moscow and Tehran have repeatedly denied the exchange of weapons in the midst of Russia’s military operations in Ukraine. Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian emphasized that Tehran provided “a small number of drones” to Russia before the start of the war in Ukraine, and at the same time strongly denied the claims that Tehran had sent missiles to Moscow.
Russia sent its troops to Ukraine on February 24 (March 5, 1400) referring to Kiev’s failure to implement the “Minsk” agreements. The Minsk agreement was designed with the aim of granting a special status to the republics of Luhansk and Donetsk within the territory of Ukraine, and was signed for the first time in 2014 with the mediation of Germany and France between the parties.
In February 2022, the Kremlin recognized the Donbas republics as independent states and asked Ukraine to officially declare itself a neutral country and never join any Western military alliance, especially the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
