According to the reporter of Mehr, “To the Horizon of Palestine” is a program that airs these nights on the TV’s Horizon Network. A program that tries to examine the issue of Palestine and the war in Gaza with the presence of various guests. Mehdi Arafati, editor-in-chief of the program “To the Horizon of Palestine” talked about this program.
The void of a program centered on Palestine
Arafati told the Mehr reporter about the reason for making this program: “Beh Oqif Palestine” went on the air in a situation where after the Al-Aqsa storm operation and the beginning of the crimes of the Zionist regime and the genocide of the people of Gaza, the void of a program centered on the issue of Palestine was felt. We have seen that in parallel with the heavy military operations, the Zionists, with the participation and accompaniment of the world’s major media and global platforms, have psychological operations and a complex media war on their agenda to divert the public opinion of the world and change the place of martyrs and executioners.
In this situation, by examining various ideas and proposals, it was decided to broadcast a program on the air of Eghov network in the shortest possible time and promote the atmosphere of information, analysis and enlightenment in line with the Palestinian issue and the recent events in Gaza.
He stressed about the main idea of ”Palestine on the Horizon”: for years, the Zionist regime’s propaganda machine has been trying to weaken the Palestinian issue in Iranian society by launching Persian sections and approaching the Iranian audience. It follows this tactic in two ways; Whitewashing Israel’s crime by using tools of distortion and lies – which have special expertise in this field – and the second line, creating a split and division in Iranian society over the cause of Palestine. With this mental background, and considering the recent war in Gaza, our first problem in the design and production of “To the Palestinian Horizon” was to create and strengthen the convergence and harmony of different political currents and figures and all strata of people and the public opinion of the Iranian people.
Arafati added: We wanted to show that both for human and moral reasons and for national interests, the whole of Iranian society is with the cause of Palestine, and only one voice from Iran is loud. That is the freedom of Palestine. In this regard, we tried to reflect the fact that everyone in Iran agrees on the Palestinian issue by inviting diverse figures in terms of intellectual and political orientation.
Development of the audience circle of the program
He continued about inviting various guests of the program: We used different language and literature and form and format in this program in comparison with other programs that were made in this regard, so that we can develop the audience of the program. This program considers even that part of the society that is not sensitive to the Palestinian issue as its addressee and tries to answer the existing ambiguities and doubts with a comprehensive investigation and plan and response. On the other hand, this program tries to create a different atmosphere for its audience by choosing different perspectives and dealing with the issue of Palestine in various fields, including politics, culture, history, sports, art, literature, etc. In other words, the program “To the Horizon of Palestine” tries to be an encyclopedia of Palestine.
The editor of the program “Beh Ofoq Palestine” said about the criteria of a popular program: diversity creates distinction. Diversity in content and format, diversity in literature and problem statement, diversity in guests. All these together put a distinct frame in front of the audience. We did not introduce Palestine – with all its coordinates – to the people; Describing and mentally depicting the land of Palestine, its culture, nature, customs, and history creates a feeling for the audience, and if this feeling is formed, it is also associated with the political issue.
He added: Among other distinctions of “Palestine Horizon” is quick and accurate information, field analysis and access to news sources at the center of the event. Using the capacity of the reporter in Gaza, South Lebanon and other conflict areas and direct narration of the events that we witness every night on the air, makes the program alive and dynamic. “Palestine Horizon” is the only national media program that reports real-time events in Gaza with SNG (Live Facilitator) facilities.
