Our red line is to live up to our commitment / fail to make money from other tax components
According to Fars News Agency, citing the Information, Public Relations and International Affairs Center of the Program and Budget Organization, the 11th meeting of the 1401 Budget Preparation Headquarters was attended by the head of the Program and Budget Organization, staff members, consultants and heads of the Management Organization. And provincial planning was held on the subject of tax resource capacities.
Seyyed Massoud Mirkazemi, stating that the components of tax revenue should be specified, clarified: to determine the components of tax revenue, a ten-year study and scientific and accurate expert work should be done to obtain a clear and acceptable conclusion.
He pointed out that the capacities of tax sources should be determined: when a part of the sources of tax collection has sufficient income, other components are forgotten. As in the past, oil was part of the tax, other components were forgotten, and as oil prices rose, so did tax revenue. Even now, other components of tax revenue are neglected due to VAT revenue.
Referring to the role of the provinces in achieving tax revenue, the vice president said: “Given that the provinces have the resources, they should be accountable next year, both in terms of revenue and expenditures, taking into account incentives in this regard.”
He added: “Provinces should have serious responsibility and supervision over provincial and national projects and macro policies, and we will adhere to any obligation considered according to the law, and our red line is to fulfill our commitment.”
The head of the Program and Budget Organization said: “The efforts of the members of the budget headquarters and working groups and heads of provinces in preparing the 1401 budget are appreciated. It should be pursued stronger, with a scientific and accurate view, more than before, and with great speed.”
At the meeting of the Budget Headquarters, the staff members, consultants and heads of the Provincial Management and Planning Organization expressed their expert opinions on the capacities of tax resources.
