According to Fars News Agency’s environment group, Hamzeh Ashuri, director general of environmental protection of Gilan province, said: the environmentalists of Ashkorat Rudsar chief environmental post managed to observe and photograph a leopard collar in the prohibited hunting area of ​​Ashkorat Rudsar.

In this regard, he said: The officers of Ashkorat Rudsar’s head patrol unit in their field monitoring in the prohibited hunting areas of Ashkorat by identifying the movement path of the leopard in this area and installing camera traps, managed to capture the image of this valuable species.

He stated that after the observation of signs such as leopard footprints and dung by environmentalists and experts, the presence of this valuable species in the prohibited hunting area of ​​Ashkorat was confirmed, and noted that the sighting of a leopard in this area indicates the dynamic nature of the ecosystem and the existence of security and nutrition. It has been suitable for this species, which has been achieved due to the round-the-clock efforts of environmentalists and the support of local communities, and fortunately, we have seen a good distribution of leopards in the province in the last few years.
