According to Fars news agency’s health group, Ahmad Mouzanzadeh, the head of Iran’s Physiotherapy Scientific Association, stated that the lack of fair tariffs and the existing explosive inflation will cause the bankruptcy of physiotherapy centers, and said: “One of the most important challenges of the medical community these days is the discussion of private sector tariffs in 1402. It is treatment, and according to the law, the Supreme Council of Health Insurance is obliged to approve the new tariffs of the government in order to implement them from the first of April, according to the total costs of services in various governmental, charitable, public, non-governmental and private sectors.
He continued: “Unfortunately, among the members of the Supreme Council of Health Insurance, there is not a balanced combination between recipients and service providers, and the only organization that defends the rights of private sector medical service providers is the Medical System Organization.”
Mozenzadeh said: “Unfortunately, all the organizations that have interests, such as insurance organizations and the planning and budget organization, are trying to prevent the tariffs from growing too much, and this is a problem in the discussion of the Supreme Council of Health Insurance, which despite this issue, this year, the Supreme Council of Health Insurance will not increase tariffs.” The private sector proposed 1402 by 40%, which is much lower than the actual inflation, and the medical system organization did not agree with this resolution.
He added: But what happened was that not only was this tariff not approved by the government board before Eid, but according to what we heard, this tariff was reduced by 10% by the Planning and Budget Organization. While this organization should be trustworthy and take the approval of the Supreme Council of Insurance to the government board, and based on the growth of workers’ rights according to the labor law, which has not been announced 27% more, unfortunately, the government board did not allow the same 30% to be approved!
The head of the Scientific Physiotherapy Association of Iran stated that according to the received information, this year’s tariffs will be announced with a global growth of 25% in the next few days.
He stated: The growth of the coefficient k of the professional private sector this year has been determined to be around 20%, and considering that the actual inflation last year was above 60% based on reliable indicators, and considering that the cost of medical services is much more than what is expected with In order to compensate for this increase, this situation actually causes the colleagues of doctors and other licensed medical groups, especially medical institutions such as physiotherapy, laboratory and radiology, clinics and hospitals, to be at risk of bankruptcy and closure.
Mozenzadeh stated: According to the survey we conducted in different groups, the endurance coefficient of different treatment groups was between 50 and 60%, and it is the same percentage in the field of physiotherapy.
He added: The regrettable thing is that we have reached the end of April and still the approval of the Supreme Council of Insurance, which was based on the initial 40% growth, has not yet been announced, which is against the interests of the medical community and of course against the interests of our physiotherapist colleagues.
The head of the Scientific Association of Physiotherapy of Iran continued: The work of the Supreme Council of Insurance Tariffs without expert support is not acceptable at all and it is better to check that during the last one year the growth in the price of medical equipment and the cost of consumables of the medical group has been at least between 70 and 80 percent. has increased and other costs such as water, electricity, gas, etc. have also increased and this issue naturally puts additional pressure on physiotherapy centers and takes away the possibility of more resilience from us and in the near future we will definitely witness the closure and bankruptcy of a large number of institutions And physiotherapy centers will be especially new centers.
The president of the Iranian Physiotherapy Association pointed out: The medical community’s demand from the authorities is to pay attention to the demands of the medical community, including the licensed group and the field of physiotherapy and other fields. While determining a fair tariff based on the cost of services, refrain from issuing and communicating unreasonable and unfeasible tariffs so that we can provide valuable and high-quality treatment services for the people and honorable patients.
