According to the Mehr news agency, quoting the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, “Hamed Forouzan” in a joint meeting of officials of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare with the EU delegation added: “We are ready to implement joint projects.”

Referring to the long-term presence of Afghan refugees in Iran, he said: “All subsidies paid to Iranian citizens in the fields of welfare, health, treatment, security, etc. are also considered for Afghans, but so far a significant amount to support them.” We have not received it from the European Commission.

“Our hosting of Afghans is based on human dignity, and instead of camping, we attracted them to our community,” he said.

The Director General of International Affairs of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare stated that the amount of European Commission assistance to Iran was very small compared to other countries. Emphasizing that this type of partnership is bilateral and based on mutual respect, Forouzan emphasized national considerations.

He said: “We expect the European Commission’s development assistance priorities in Iran to expand and help domestic programs to ensure the welfare of all segments.

Hadi Mahdavi, Advisor to the Director General of the Office of International Affairs, after giving additional explanations on how to prepare and submit the plans of the Ministry of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare to the European Commission for the first time, added: “This is just the beginning and we are trying to attract maximum Have the resources of the European Commission.

The head of the Middle East and Central Asia Office of the European Commission’s Office of International Companies also said at the meeting: “Our purpose in Iran is to assess the current situation for expanding cooperation in various fields.”

“In this program, the priorities for engaging with Iran are employment, support and livelihoods for Afghan refugees, and we will do this through the Norwegian Refugee Center and the United Nations,” Sarah Rinaldi said.

He continued: “The exclusive cooperation of the European Union with this ministry has been done since 2019 with the aim of strengthening social protection for street children, especially Afghan children, through UNICEF, the Welfare and Social Welfare Organization.”

Reynolds thanked the Ministry of Labor for providing accurate and comprehensive subdivisions under the direction of the Office of International Affairs, and expressed hope that the European Commission would include all of the ministry’s proposals in its development assistance.

In this meeting, the representatives of the Departments of Welfare, Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Employment, Social Security Organization, Technical and Vocational Organization, Welfare Organization, Omid Entrepreneurship Fund, Nomadic Fund presented their proposed plans and programs.
