According to Mehr reporter, Alireza Abdi, deputy minister and head of the Literacy Movement Organization, stated at the conference on the environment and the right to education: the Literacy Movement Organization, with the historic order of the great founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA) on the 7th of December 1958, is responsible for eliminating the More than 52% of the country’s population achieved literacy.

He added: Literacy movement is one of the important arms of the educational system in the country, and it is actually the flagship of the informal education system.

Stating that the target point of the literacy movement is adults, who themselves are mostly responsible for education, Abdi said: The movement seeks that a literate person, in addition to learning to read and write, can change the people around them towards recovery, growth and improvement. .

Stating that the Literacy Movement is one of the important partners of the Environmental Protection Organization in increasing people’s awareness in the field of environment, he said: So far, 85 books have been published directly by the Literacy Movement, but the work must continue.

The head of the Literacy Movement organization stressed the words of the supreme leader of the revolution that in the case of literacy education, first of all, the development of literacy and secondly the deepening of literacy is desired, and the work should not be stopped and he said: God willing, collaborative programs with the environment will expand.
