Ramin Parchami: I had no other choice!

Charso Press: This actor, who is acting in the show “Pancheri” these days, said about the need to perform theater in the current situation and added: “I am no longer active in television and theater is the only space in which I can work.”

Parchami explained about his appearance in the play “Pancheri”, the text of which is written by Fardish Doranmat and translated by Hamid Saarigian: “The play “Pancheri” has its own charms. Of course, the text that we are performing is very different from the text translated by Ostad Saarigian, and more than half of it has been rewritten, and it can be said that it is a new text. So that the text was completed in the process of rehearsal and preparation of the show.

He continued: When the offer to work with this group came up, I didn’t know the director of the show, but instead I was familiar with the actors, who are all good actors, and in the first place, their presence made me accept the offer to act in this show. During the rehearsal, I got to know the director’s ideas and now I am satisfied with the result of this collaboration.

Pragami, who was previously on stage in the show “This is not drinking water” at Sepand Hall, explained about the audience’s reception of stage shows in the current social stage: Our previous show was less well received, but fortunately, the audience welcomed the show “Pancheri”. it is good. If all the seats in the hall are not filled in every performance, at least more than half of its capacity will be filled.

Expressing his opposition to closing the theater in the current social conditions, he added: I was against this opinion from the beginning. Although I have always been with the people during social protests, I was strongly against the closure of the theater and I insisted that the theater should be staged. If it is about protest, the theater is one of the best places to plan social protests and talk about issues.

Parchami continued: In my opinion, this reaction should have happened the other way around, and by the way, we should have given more wings to the theater and people would have gathered more in the theaters. It is as if the intruders somehow caused the closure of the theater in the current situation. If it is going to be closed, you should think about things that are only for fun and entertainment, but shows that are thought-provoking and serious, why should they be closed?!

He emphasized: I will leave aside the argument that the theater is our job, but I still insist on the opinion that the theater should not be closed as a place for people to gather. Therefore, I was against this closure from the beginning and I will stand by this opinion and work as much as I can.

Pointing out that the theaters are gradually resuming their activities, this actor added: Little by little, those who believed in the closure of the theaters, will realize that this thinking is wrong, and this atmosphere will gradually be broken, and the theaters will get back on their feet and the audience. They also come to see plays.

About the methods used in the advertising of the “Pancheri” show, Praghmi said: “We mostly used the old word of mouth method, because we had no other advertising options.” We informed on our personal pages and put a poster in Shahrazad Hall, because there was no other option. I think most of our audience came with these ads.

He further explained about his focus on theater in recent years: I had no other choice! Alhamdulillah, I can no longer work on TV, and of course I have no desire to do so myself, and the situation of cinema and home TV channels is not very favorable either. The only space I have for work is in this theater, and I am happy that my friends also suggested it, and I have regularly worked in theater on stage.

Pragami told the people not to be fooled by trends that are against theater, art and cultural gatherings, and to come to theaters and see the works.

He pointed out: Shows like ours have a lot to say, and basically, many things can be said in the theater. In fact, supporting the theater is supporting the same goal that we all seek.
