According to the Fars News Agency International Group, the news site “AxiusOn Monday, on the eve of the Moscow-Washington talks in Geneva, a group of hardline anti-Russian experts at a meeting recommended that the United States send weapons to Ukraine.

According to Axius, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan had consulted with several extremist anti-Russian advisers, including former Donald Trump administration officials, before talks began Monday between Moscow and Washington.

At a virtual meeting on Zoom software, the advisers suggested that Sullivan send more weapons to Ukraine ahead of the talks.

US National Security Council spokeswoman Emily Horn said Washington officials have repeatedly consulted with Russian experts outside the group, seeking their views and welcoming “their expertise in dealing with the crisis.”

Earlier in the day, a group of academics, diplomats and former US commanders wrote a letter to the government urging it to send more military weapons to Ukraine.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov began a meeting with his US counterpart Wendy Sherman in Geneva this afternoon (Monday).

Prior to the meeting, Ryabkov told RIA Novosti that if the United States and NATO did not address the issues raised by Russia in the upcoming talks, they could face the worst security threat.

He explained that Moscow was ready to listen to US talk about the non-deployment of missile systems on Ukrainian territory, saying that the forthcoming Geneva talks should focus on Ukraine’s non-accession to NATO in general.

“This is completely out of the question, it means acting against our own security interests,” Ryabkov said, stressing that Russia would not make any concessions under Western pressure.

On the other hand, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Sunday evening, Tehran time: “We do not pay attention to the deployment of troops and the level of troops.” “On the contrary, if Russia commits another aggression against Ukraine, I think it is a very fair prospect that NATO will strengthen its position along its eastern flank, the countries bordering Russia.”

However, he made it clear that Ukraine would not negotiate with Russia over NATO membership, and that NATO had never made a commitment not to expand.
