He added: “In many countries that do not have the geopolitical conditions of Iran, more than 25 percent of GDP was obtained through transportation, so these statistics show that the transportation sector is very important and decisive for a country’s income.”

Ghasemi said: “Currently, the sea and road sector is very important for a country’s economy, and we must put important measures on our agenda in this area.”

He emphasized: the modernization of the road fleet should always be on the agenda and this modernization is a serious need of the country.

Ghasemi continued: “We have put programs on the agenda to speed up the trains and create a cheap and safe transportation development, as well as for the country’s air sector.”

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development continued: “In the road freight fleet sector, we should also put the modernization of trucks on the agenda, because 400,000 trucks travel on the country’s roads, and their modernization is a serious need for us.”

Ghasemi said: “Implementation of the transport transformation plan is one of our main plans because in the main road corridors to connect to transit routes that have missing links, we must act quickly and increase our capacity in transit.”

He stated: we should use this capacity in the rural roads sector as well; There are currently 30,000 rural roads left that require new contracts.
