Revealing the secret of the royal mummy with medical imaging technique + images

According to the visual correspondent of Fars News Agency, quoted by EuronewsEgyptian researchers have uncovered the secrets of a royal mummy thanks to medical imaging without opening the fabric ribbons.

The findings help researchers learn more about new mummification techniques that began in 1500 BC during the reign of Amenhotep I, the second pharaoh of the 18th dynasty of ancient Egypt.

This pharaoh was the son of Ahmase I, the founder of the Eighth Dynasty, who ruled Egypt for 21 years between 1504 and 1525 BC after the death of his father.

The Eighteenth Dynasty is one of the most famous and luxurious dynasties of ancient Egypt, whose members ruled from 1549 BC to 1292.

Amenhotep I is thus the first member of this dynasty to be mummified with open arms, and also the last person not to have his skull removed at the time of the mummification.

This mummy was discovered in 1881 in “Aqsar”. Unlike other royal mummies, Amenhotep I’s mummy ribbons had never been opened to protect the mourning mask and the garlands that surrounded her body.

The use of CT scan techniques, common in medical radiology, without the need to open mummy ribbons, proves that the second Pharaoh of the 18th dynasty of Egypt, who led several expeditions during his 21-year reign, did not suffer or suffer at the age of 35. He died of an illness.

The study was conducted by Sahar Salim, a professor of radiology at Cairo University and the String of Hawass, a prominent and sometimes controversial figure in Egyptian archaeological studies.

During this study, the mummy of Amenhotep I, the second pharaoh of the 18th dynasty of Egypt, was studied under a highly advanced three-dimensional imaging technique, a type of CT scan using computer tools.

Thanks to this technique, Mr. Havas, along with Albert Zink, a German mummification expert, discovered the truth and secrets of a 3,000-year-old crime on an ancient subject called the Harem Conspiracy.

Using X-rays and DNA analysis, they proved that Ramses III had strangled his wife during the plot, who wanted to put her son on the throne instead of the first child of one of his rivals.

The team that used CT scans without opening the mummy ribbons on the body of Amenhotep I was able to gather interesting information about the appearance and jewelry that was buried with the second pharaoh of the 18th dynasty of Egypt.

According to this information, “Amenhotep I” was 159 cm tall and had healthy teeth. The mummy of this pharaoh, which has attracted the attention of many Egyptian archaeologists and history enthusiasts due to its intact mourning mask and precise and complete bandages, and is now kept in one of the famous museums in Cairo.
