Review of Fajr films were not eligible for the regulations until 5 December

According to Fars News Agency, Yazdan Ashiri, Advisor to the President and Director General of Public Relations of the Cinema Organization, said about the 40th Fajr Film Festival: “In this period, we had 94 films. I think the names of these films will be announced in the coming days.

He added: “The selection committee of the festival has officially started working, and the names of the members have been officially announced. Have the competition section of the festival.

Ashiri said: “Some films were not eligible due to non-compliance with the rules and the festival call.” For example, their production year was before 99 and 1400, which did not include recall. Or there were films that may have applied for and re-registered during periods of the festival. We had films that did not go through the process of issuing a production license, and … in total, 20 films were contrary to the rules and regulations, and 74 films were considered for evaluation by the selection committee.

He said: The selection committee of this festival consists of Messrs. Behrouz Afkhami, Dr. Majid Shah Hosseini, Ismail Bani Ardalan, Hossein Zandbaf, Esfandiar Shahidi, Mohammad Hossein Niroumand and Sarkar Ms. Pouran Derakhshandeh, who I think is the most non-governmental of the previous Fajr Film Festival. And we see the most community members in this period of the festival. A mix of academic, discourse, elite, and professors involved in theoretical, philosophical, and aesthetic discussions of art and cinema, as well as renowned experts and filmmakers.

* Holding pre-sessions on various topics before the 40th festival

Ashiri said: “Fortunately, the festival is going through its process and we have designed pre-screenings that will be held on the eve of the Fajr Film Festival, hosted by the Cinema Museum.” In these presentations, cinema priorities and necessities, discussions of cinema economics and livelihood topics, analytical and theoretical discussions and pathology of cinema in different genres have been designed by experts and roundtables.

He said: “We hope that these sessions will help us to enter a new horizon in the second step of cinema, and in fact after four decades of moving on a specific circuit, which can certainly happen as a result of the views and opinions of professors.” Our cinema needs a revolutionary transformation and reconstruction. Whether we like it or not, given the situation and process that Iranian cinema is going through, and even in terms of audience capacity, as well as thematic and thematic issues, our cinema needs a content and even structural revolution, which we hope will be key on the eve of the Fajr decade. Continue with this discourse and discussions so that in the coming years we will witness the transformation, evolution and uplift of Iranian cinema so that this cinema can be used by all segments of the people and families and a small minority will not be the audience of these products and films.

Adviser to the head of the Cinema Organization added: “We will hold pre-screening sessions of the Cinema Museum from the first week of January and will continue until the beginning of the festival.” After that, we connect to scientific conferences that are held at the same time as the festival.
