Rising rice prices are illegal / profit motive is a factor in price growth

According to Fars News Agency, quoted by Radio and TV; Qasem Ali Hassani criticized the excessive increase in rice prices and called on the authorities to deal with this violation legally.

He said: “Rates are set by farmers in the three northern provinces, which unfortunately some people make a profit in this situation.”

Hassani also said in response to a question about a 17% increase in the price of rice at the beginning of February: “Except for the two types of rice in which we had a price change, we did not see much change in the other types of rice.”

“There is enough domestic and foreign rice and there is no shortage of it,” he said.
