Russian atomic bombers have once again entered the skies of Belarus

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, two bombers capable of carrying Russian nuclear weapons entered the skies of Belarus on Thursday for the second day in a row.
According to the news agency “SputnikRussia’s Defense Ministry says two Russian Tu-160 bombers have entered Belarus to cover Sukhoi-30 Osam warplanes.
“Joint activities of the Russian and Belarusian air forces and air defenses continue,” the ministry said in a statement. “Today, November 11, two Russian Air Force Tu-160 strategic bombers patrolled Belarusian airspace, and the cover of Belarusian Air Force Sukhoi-30 fighters became operational.”
The Russian Defense Ministry added that the patrol was conducted to ensure the security of the allied country of Moscow and was not aimed at threatening any other country.
Two Russian strategic bombers flew over Belarus yesterday (Wednesday) amid rising tensions between Minsk and Warsaw over the refugee crisis on the border, Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying.
According to the British newspaper The Independent, the Kremlin denied being behind the escalating crisis early Wednesday after Poland called Moscow “the mastermind” of border events in its undocumented accusation.
According to the Independent, the latest developments take place in the midst of the most stressful period to date, after months of heavy migration along the borders of Belarus with Poland, Lithuania and, to some extent, Latvia.
The European Union (EU) has accused Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko’s government of trying to destabilize the country with a new wave of mass migration to the European Union. EU leaders say Belarus is retaliating against EU sanctions against Lukashenko.
The situation on the Polish-Belarusian border is part of a “new kind of war”, Polish Prime Minister Matthew Murawski said on Tuesday.
According to the news agency “Reuters“We have to monitor the situation at the border periodically,” Lukashenko said today (Thursday). “Let (Westerners) squeak, let them shout.”
“Yes, these bombers are capable of carrying nuclear weapons, but we have no choice,” he said. “We have to see what they do across the border.”
