Ryzen 9 6900HX Benchmark in Geekbench – weaker than 12900H

Witness the first benchmark of the new Ryzen 9 6900HX mobile processor Geekbench Which was introduced by AMD in early January.

The Ryzen 9 6900HX chip uses the Zen 3 Plus architecture and a 4.9 GHz clock boost, but is not Rembrandt’s main flagship, and the title went to the Ryzen 9 6980HX with a higher frequency of 100 MHz. The HX series was introduced last year as an open, high-end processor for gaming notebooks, and now we’re seeing the same trend with the 6nm Rembrandt family.

The Ryzen 9 6900HX uses 8 16-core cores, a base frequency of 3.3 GHz and a boost of 4.9 GHz. Also, the integrated graphics of this chip are accompanied by RDNA 2 architecture and 12 computational units. As we said, HX means open coefficient and manufacturers can adjust the thermal power to their liking. Unfortunately, we do not see real thermal power here.

According to the benchmarks, the processor scored 1593 on single cores and 10151 on multiple cores. These results are 12 and 33% better than the previous generation Ryzen 9 5900HX with Zen 3 architecture, respectively.

Compared to a similar Intel processor in the same class, which is a Core i9 12900H based on the Alder Lake P with 14 cores and 20 threads, the Rembrandt chip does not perform very well. The Blue Team processor is 7 to 21 percent faster in single-core and 37 to 42 percent faster in multi-core. However, we still do not know what the maximum performance of the AMD processor is and we have to wait.

The Ryzen 6000 laptops will probably be released on February 1st. Their reviews are also likely to be released today as the RTX 3080 Ti graphics limit expires. Radeon RX 6000 / S series notebook graphics are not known at this time.
