According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Al-Jarida, “George Malbruno”, the senior reporter of the French newspaper “Lofigaro”, quoted a Saudi source, and said something about the rail connection project between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Quoting this Saudi source, who participated in a Saudi-French investment meeting on the sidelines of the recent ambassadorship of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Paris, he emphasized that Riyadh is examining the plan of a rail line with Iran through Kuwait and Basra.

Malbruno traveled to Kuwait last November, where he met with Kuwaiti officials, journalists, and elite Kuwaiti researchers.

Last Sunday, the government of Kuwait announced its agreement with Saudi Arabia regarding the project of laying a rail line between the two countries for the purpose of transporting goods and passengers.

On the other hand, the first freight train left Chelyabinsk station in Russia for Saudi Arabia and will pass through the North-South International Corridor through Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran.

This train carries 42 containers of energy equipment and non-ferrous metals and will move along this route based on the designed schedule.
