Screening of “Kambiz Darmbakhsh” works in Fajr Visual Arts Festival + Film

According to the visual correspondent of Fars News Agency, on Friday, November 5, this year, “Kambiz Darmbakhsh”, a cartoon and cartoon artist, died at the age of 79 due to Coronary disease. He was one of the geniuses of Iranian caricature.

In order to commemorate the memory of this late artist, the 14th Fajr Visual Arts Festival, which is being held at the Saba Institute, has exhibited some of Darbakhsh’s works, which we can see in the following video:

According to Fars, Darmbakhsh was born in 1931 in Shiraz and won several major international awards. He received the Order of the Knight in November 1993 from the French Ministry of Culture and Arts, however, he did not remain silent after the insult of the French magazine “Charlie Hebdo” to the holy site of the Prophet (PBUH) and said: are; Freedom of expression is used to censor issues in the press, and it is quite different from the atmosphere of blasphemy. During the years that I have known Iranian cartoonists, not only have none of them insulted the prophets of other religions, but they have also respected other divine prophets. We also expect cartoonists of other religions to respect our Prophet.

Ebrahim Haghighi, a graphic designer, said of Dermabakhsh: “Cartoonists, especially Dermabakhsh, can be compared to radiologists who constantly radiologize pain and bring it to the eyes of the people.” With his works, he identified the harms of society. He always had a pen and paper and he did that. At the same time, it had its own signature, so much so that even if you drew a simple line on the paper, you could tell it was a work in progress.
