Referring to the religious principles and the third chapter of the country’s constitution, which is dedicated to the protection of the rights of the Iranian people, he informed of the efforts of this headquarters to further protect the rights of the people under the title of “human rights” in domestic and international arenas. From the concept of human rights, many issues and problems in this area can be solved.
Gharibabadi reiterated the importance of the status of human rights and pointed out that human rights are meaningful in political, civil, cultural, social and economic issues, and stressed the need for the cooperation of other forces in this field.
Referring to the serious determination of this headquarters in pursuing the rights of the people in the judiciary and other branches, the Deputy Minister for International Affairs of the Judiciary announced the reform of the processes to identify the issues and problems of the people in the Human Rights Headquarters.
The Secretary of Human Rights also stressed the need to maintain cohesion and unity among the media in protecting national interests and countering the propaganda and political pressures of the Western world, and criticized the existence of a Special Rapporteur on human rights, “On the other hand, in addition to actively pursuing human rights violations in other claiming countries, we must also provide the necessary grounds for an active and timely media response to the destructive activities of these countries,” he said.
Ahmad Bina, Advisor to the Secretary General of the Human Rights Headquarters, also mentioned the effective role of the media in criticizing the destructive policies of Western governments and also supporting the headquarters in informing the activities, about the readiness of the Human Rights Headquarters to strengthen communication and provide necessary information to the media informed.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to Kazem Gharibabadi, Secretary and Ahmad Bina, Advisor to the Secretary of Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iman Shamsaii, Director General of Internal Press and News Agencies and Alireza Shirvi, Director General of Foreign Media of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance were among those present.
In the final part of the 2-hour meeting, a number of media executives expressed their views and strategies in media cooperation with the Human Rights Council.
Emphasis on strengthening the relationship between the Human Rights Headquarters and other specialized institutions of the country with the media, making more use of the capacities of private media, the need to maintain media coherence in order to protect national interests, emphasizing strengthening non-Persian-speaking sections of domestic media and expanding international media activities. Most of the capacities of academic experts and non-governmental organizations, and the need to provide media attachments for important programs of the Human Rights Headquarters, were among the issues emphasized by media managers.
