Seeds that germinate lovingly in the heart of nature / Zagros revivalists try to breathe the earth

According to the Fars news agency from Sarvestan, although in Fars province, despite all climatic problems, including low rainfall and long dry season, along with high evaporation and drought stress during the growing season, there has been no significant success in planting seeds and seedlings, but Some groups called environmental groups and Zagros revivers continue their efforts to revive and keep the environment alive.
Mehran Alizadeh is one of the environmental activists who is always trying to improve the condition of the heart of the earth and considers the earth, clean climate as one of the most effective reasons for people’s happiness and vitality. Of course, some of these people, through their behavior, caused the work of Mehran and his friends in the field of environment to multiply.
I had met these environmental activists in the workshops that have been held virtually in webinars over the past two years due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, and I have witnessed from afar the compassion of these loved ones to revive the beautiful nature of Sarvestan.
I asked Alizadeh, who has been working with environmentalists and revitalizers with her family members for many years, about her interest in the environment. Living is data.
But the father says with a laugh: As a child, I was interested in planting seeds in the soil and I took care of them; It didn’t matter if it sprouted or not, I took care of it for months because I had heard the saying of sowing the seeds of love and affection. Show it to everyone.
I spent my childhood and early adolescence in nature because we were nomads and I moved with my family every year and I always owe my life to these trees, plains, forests and plant species and I decided to practice this religion in adulthood. To.
I asked him how he works in these groups, to which he replied: Our activities are different throughout the year, for example, planting seeds or seedlings of some trees is in mid-March to early April, or some other species must be planted in the fall. Be. While the protection of trees against fires is mostly in the summer, the work of clearing nature takes place in all seasons.
He continued his speech: in the tree planting plan, special attention should be paid to the selection of seeds, land and planting environment because the seeds that are planted should be selected based on climate, type of cover and rainfall and should be protected from livestock grazing and We can not start planting seeds or seedlings without a plan, because we have done something fruitless.
Alizadeh, in response to the question whether planting seeds is better or seedlings, explained: Seed planting is better than seedlings in some ways because the seeds are adapted to the environment in nature from the beginning, but the seedlings take some time to adapt to the environment. There may be tensions for a long time.
He recommends: The best place to plant seeds is in rock crevices because these places have good moisture and the seeds in which they are planted do not need to be inspected and irrigated. Of course, if a rock crack is not found, the seeds can be planted next to a rock or plant.
“In nature, due to the conditions, soil moisture is rarely available for germination and therefore, among the large amounts of seeds scattered, only a very small number are in good condition and continue to grow,” said the environmental activist. Give.
Alizadeh continued his explanation about how to plant coriander seeds (wild pistachio) said: For example, coriander plant, which is native to hot and dry areas, should be exposed to plenty of light and the most suitable soil for this plant is a combination of sand and clay. The soil that is poured on the seeds should not be more than three centimeters and watering of this plant should be done when the soil is completely dry.
Perseverance; Password to reach the target peak
I asked him about the hardships and sweets of this work, and he explained: Most of the time, we put one-liter containers of water in our backpacks and climb the rocks with difficulty to inspect and water the seedlings, and the difficulty of this work It is worth seeing the freshness of young seedlings that are like our children.
Alizadeh continued: “When we sow the seeds, we put signs around that area to remember the time of irrigation and rebellion; Of course, if the conditions for rebellion are not available, sometimes we sow the seeds in the shade or next to shrubs such as astragalus that do not need irrigation.
The environmental activist said: “During these years, many times after we saw the plants sprouting, we witnessed the destruction of the plant in the next riots. At these times, we were very upset, but still because we had some results, hoping for the day when the tree We planted seeds with more protection and took more care.
Referring to the great advantage that the seeds of some forest trees have, he continued: “Some seeds are cars and do not need our irrigation, and if their seeds or seedlings are planted in nature, they have only a little irrigation in the early years and then their needs.” They also provide annual rainfall. These trees are also ready to live in harsh nature and are highly resistant to pests and diseases.
I asked about the type of seeds and places that have been active so far, which Alizadeh said: the seeds of native trees and plants such as almond, coriander, kunar and also the medicinal plant Anghozeh in the mountains and pastures of Cheshmeh Robat (Dusholi) or the heights of the mountains around Cheshmeh We plant in a loose and narrow manner, which is a suitable environment, in the form of spots.
He further explained: The area around Asmani water and occasional water, Black Mountain, Tang Sarkhoni, seeds of coriander trees, almonds, arjan and medicinal plants, we planted jashir edible, aloe vera and wild alfalfa, for example, in parts of Black Mountain due to the height of the mountain In the valleys, sunrise occurs later and sunset earlier, so we make the best use of this advantage.
Birds and rodents that plant trees better than humans
The environmental activist referred to the activity of animals in planting trees and said: “More than 90% of trees are planted by birds and animals, for example, birds eat the bark of the fruit of the coriander tree and the coriander itself is scattered in pastures, mountains and forests.” And this is why new seedlings emerge from the soil and sometimes we see these trees among the bushes and thorns.
Alizadeh continued: “Or, for example, the oak fruit that is buried in the basement by some animals, and most of the time that animal forgets to come to its secret food and the seeds germinate and turn green.”
one hand has no sound
Regarding the activities of the group members, he said: “I am happy that the groups we have formed are families and we try to have the teenagers with the group most of the time so that they can have the experience of planting and maintaining seedlings, because in this way, Most appreciate trees and the environment.
Alizadeh, stating that our goal should be the mutual benefit of nature tourism, said: “If each of us, after having fun and enjoying nature in the area where we are, seeds, even if we use as much as a handful of forage seeds, our religion We are committed to the earth and the future, and I always try to put this into practice to be a role model for those around me.
The environmental activist, referring to the threats that cause the destruction of trees, said: overgrazing and excess capacity and off-season, providing fuel and rural consumption, and in addition, the cutting and branching of mother trees by environmental destroyers, Nutrition of rodents, including rats, rabbits and hedgehogs, etc. are factors that threaten the growth and establishment of seedlings.
He continued: “The thing that bothers us the most and we are sad for a long time is when we see the branches of the trees being broken or the fire that falls on the green trees out of negligence and in the blink of an eye the tree.” It becomes coal for several hundred years.
I say goodbye to Alizadeh’s family while there is not much rain these days, but hope has made them more determined to do more.
I hope that more attention of the society to the environment and natural resources will be a way for our reconciliation with nature, a transition to the re-emergence of the ancient culture of our Islamic Iran, which is the preservation of nature.
