Signing a memorandum of understanding on film cooperation with Tajikistan


According to Fars news agency, the signing ceremony of the film cooperation memorandum was held between the heads of the film organizations of Tajikistan and Iran.

This document was signed by Mohammad Saeed Shahian, the head of cinema affairs of Tajikistan, and Mohammad Khazaei, the head of the organization of cinema and audio-visual affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who went on a 2-day trip to Tajikistan.

In this new document of cooperation, the mutual desire of the two parties towards the expansion of film interactions is emphasized and the implementation of measures such as exchange, screening and offering of each other’s film works, joint productions, exchange of experiences and technical knowledge, mutual invitation and participation in relevant events in both countries. Exchange, display and commercial supply of each other’s cinematographic works, according to the existing capacities and the laws and regulations of the respective countries, mutual invitation to cinematographic events (festivals, etc.) in both countries and providing the necessary facilities to facilitate the participation and presence of filmmakers and cinematographers. Facilitating the communication, exchange and participation of the specialized forces of the two countries in film projects, the exchange of technical and specialized knowledge and the exchange of professors and students in the field of cinema, the production of joint films including feature, documentary, short and animation in the fields of common history, culture and customs. 2 countries and encouragement from this work, holding joint film weeks and ensuring copyright compliance for cinematographic works are the most important areas of cooperation in this memorandum.

During the signing ceremony of the memorandum, Mohammad Khazaei said in a short speech: “Since my arrival in the film organization, in the international field, we have put the expansion of regional cooperation and the development of relations with neighboring countries at the top of the agenda, especially with countries that share history, civilization, language and rituals.”

He continued: I believe that the development of cultural and cinema relations with these countries, especially neighboring countries, can bring good results.

Referring to the bilateral agreements with Tajikistan, the head of the cinema organization reminded: the signing of the memorandum lays the foundation for extensive cooperation in various fields, including joint production, exchange of professors, transfer of film industry technologies and educational models, and participation in film events corresponding to the commonalities of the two countries, and fortunately Based on this journey, the production of several short films, documentaries and a feature film are on the way to becoming operational, which will start soon and their additional news will be announced.

Stating that the two countries have many potential capacities for cooperation and participation in various fields of cinema, he said: The two nations of Iran and Tajikistan have a common soul in two bodies, therefore, cinema can strengthen and recognize its common points more than in the past. , bring these two nations closer together, and basically, one of the most important functions of cinema is to strengthen these human and civilizational bonds.

Khazaei pointed out that the new season of cinema relations between the two countries has begun, and emphasized: this cinematic cooperation and production of joint works will help bring the two nations closer, and cinema is an important tool for guiding public diplomacy.

Referring to the importance of film cooperation with Iran, Mohammad Saeed Shahian said: Today is a big and important day for us. Iranian cinema has a reputation in the world. This cooperation helps the growth and prosperity of the cinema of the two countries.

Shahian continued: Knowing the position of Iranian cinema, we invited the head of the cinema organization to come to Tajikistan.

According to him, Iran is a big and civilized country and we have many common roots. For us, Isfahan, Mashhad, Neishabur, Hamadan are not foreign cities.

Shahian reminded: The film agreement with Iran is a big film event for Tajikistan and I am sure it will have many results for both countries.

Alireza Haghigian, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, well-known cultural figures of Tajikistan and journalists were present at the signing ceremony of this memorandum.

The trip of the head of the cinema organization to Tajikistan was planned weeks ago, but due to the painful loss of the pioneer of Iranian cinema, the late Dariush Mehrjooi, and for the purpose of some follow-ups and coordination after signing the memorandum, he canceled other programs and returned to the country.
