Special preparations to solve the problem of air pollution in the capital in the 1401 budget

According to the Fars correspondent, Abed Maleki, Tehran Governor’s Deputy for Civil Affairs, referring to the forecast for stable weather in the capital this week and the unhealthy air index, spoke about the latest decisions of the Tehran Province Air Pollution Emergency Committee.
Referring to the emergency committee’s measures to control Tehran’s air quality, Maleki said: “Prevent traffic and smokeless engines without technical inspection, ban heavy-duty diesel vehicles, prevent major urban development activities, prevent buses and minibuses from staying on.” Urban terminals, establishment of emergency and relief bases in more polluted areas, closure of effective industrial units in aggravating air pollution, including production of concrete, asphalt, sand, ban on the use of liquid fuel in power plants and industries adjacent to Tehran, closure of kindergartens and preschools, Holding virtual classes in Tehran province and advising citizens to avoid sports in open urban areas is the most important decision of the emergency committee.
In response to a question about the reason for holding today’s match between Esteghlal and Sepahan despite air pollution, the deputy governor of Tehran stated: The weather is unhealthy for sensitive groups and the conditions are not such as to lead to the closure of clubs and stadiums. The decision in this case is left to the football league, but our advice to the citizens is not to play sports outdoors.
Emphasizing that according to the official announcement, none of the industries and power plants in Tehran use fuel oil, he said: “Air inversion is a problem in many parts of the country, and of course some other countries also suffer from it.” Care must be taken in the production of pollution. The development of transportation and the reform of the production of pollutants require time and credit, which must be pursued.
Referring to several meetings of the governor with the country’s managers to solve the problem of air pollution, the deputy governor of Tehran said: “In the 1401 budget, special preparations have been made to solve this problem, and according to the president’s order to the governor, eliminating pollution is on the governor’s agenda.”
