Tax support for tourism content production companies in foreign languages

According to Fars News Agency, Ali Asghar Shalbafian stated the following: “Considering the concern against Iranophobia and presenting a true image of the country in the international community, a proposal by the Ministry of Heritage, Culture and Handicrafts and with the concurrence of representatives of the Islamic Consultative Assembly commissions, including The National and Cultural Security Commission was set up.
Explaining the proposal, he said: “According to Part (1) of Annex 4 in the 1401 budget, the parliament approved the expenditure of legal entities in the production and dissemination of cultural and educational content and the introduction of tourism capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in foreign languages, with coordination and approval of the Ministry.” Cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts are considered tax eligible expenses.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism described this action as motivating for companies and said: “According to this approved clause, companies and legal entities that are required to pay taxes, if they spend money on activities and measures to introduce and promote Iran, as well as production and dissemination.” Cultural content and introduction of Iran’s tourism potential in foreign languages, if approved by the Ministry of Heritage, Culture and Handicrafts will be deducted from the company’s tax.
Announcing that this clause has been approved by the representatives of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Integration Commission as well as the representatives in the parliament, Shalbafian added: “We hope that this resolution will be implemented with the approval of the Guardian Council and the finalization of the 1401 budget bill from next year.”
He also expressed hope that with the cooperation of the Tax Affairs Organization, stakeholders and tourism activists, as well as all companies and legal entities that are concerned with presenting a true image of Iran, a step will be taken to better introduce Islamic Iran.
