According to Fars News Agency, Ali Salehi, Tehran’s Public Prosecutor and Revolutionary Guard, visited the Greater Tehran Intelligence Police Detention Center last night with a number of his deputies.
During the visit, the Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor stated: “The purpose of this intrusive visit was to examine the situation of the detainees in terms of necessity and duration of detention by the detention official and to ensure the accuracy of the interrogation in terms of observing legal procedures.”
He also stated that another purpose of this visit was to monitor the observance of the defendants’ civil rights and added: “According to this, issues such as the observance of the defendants’ rights in terms of detention conditions, health issues and ensuring the health of detainees and the defendants’ access to Their families and lawyers were carefully examined.
Referring to the emphasis of the head of the judiciary on respecting the rights of the accused and the summoned and detained persons, Salehi stressed the need to pay attention to the human dignity of the accused by the relevant authorities and noted: So as not to cause any damage to the dignity of the accused and their families.
He further, while informing about the status of processing the requests of clients and the process of reviewing cases, stressed the need to expedite the process of processing and observing the provisions of the law in carrying out the assigned tasks.
In the end, the Tehran Public Prosecutor and the Revolutionary Guard stressed the need for judicial officials to continue to visit prisons and detention centers, and said that this issue is very important in order to quickly identify the shortcomings and shortcomings and resolve the problems immediately.
