Tehran’s dilapidated structures will be renovated with the participation of housing cooperatives – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news



According to Mehr News Agency, citing the Ministry of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare, the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare and Tehran Municipality today, December 2, with the presence of Seyed Soult Mortazavi, the Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare and Alireza Zakani, the Mayor of Tehran, signed the agreement at the Ministry’s place with the aim of renovating the dilapidated structures of Tehran with the participation of housing cooperatives.

This memorandum is implemented based on principles 31 and 43 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the law on organizing and supporting the production and supply of housing and the law on the jump of housing production.

Other goals of the implementation of this memorandum include improving the productivity of the land through the collection of worn-out license plates and providing high-quality housing, supporting the formation of housing cooperatives in personal collective projects in the neighborhoods of Tehran municipality, forming small neighborhood funds, laying the foundation and facilitating the process of all urban households enjoying Residential units and participation in the construction and production of 5 thousand residential units.

The Tehran City Renewal Organization and the Distribution Cooperatives Office of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare are responsible for the implementation of this memorandum on behalf of the parties by forming a joint committee.

Based on the provisions of this memorandum, planning, managing, facilitating and preparing the articles of association for the formation of neighborhood housing cooperatives and introducing construction and mass-building cooperatives to participate in the projects of revitalizing worn-out structures and providing low-cost housing facilities, including the obligations of the deputy of cooperative affairs and identifying and introducing lands with definitive ownership documents. It is under the responsibility of Tehran Municipality.

Sayyed Soult On the sidelines of the ceremony, Mortazavi said: There are many commonalities between the Ministry of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare and Tehran Municipality, which will develop in the near future in the social and economic fields.

Mortazavi named the Ministry of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare as the “Ministry of the People” and Tehran Municipality as the “House of the People” and added: “The main duty of revolutionary leaders is to serve the people.”

The Minister of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare emphasized the need to develop cooperative-oriented popular partnerships and considered the implementation of this memorandum as a big step to increase social capital and develop popular partnerships in the country.

He mentioned the construction industry as one of the economic drivers of the country and added that the Ministry of Cooperatives is on the way to achieving a 25% share of the cooperative sector in the country’s economy.

Mortazavi stated: With the cooperation of Cooperative Development Bank and Shahr Bank, 450 million Tomans of facilities will be paid for each residential unit and will be combined with the income of the applicants.
