The ban on Google Maps for Iranian services was lifted

In the past weeks, Iranian users have raised news of a problem in using Google maps in cyberspace.
According to Aetna’s report from Tasnim, the Google Map API service was blocked for users with Iranian IP since December of last year, and after the users reported on Twitter, one of the Iranian employees of Google announced the follow-up of this problem in the comments. As a result of this follow-up, the embargo of this service has been lifted for Iranian users.
Google Map was already disconnected in 2017 for Iranian sites with IR domain. The display of Eror403 for the IP of Iran was a sign of the blocking of the map display for Iranian services. Even on foreign websites that used the Google map, the map for Iran’s IP was not displayed.
Previously, in 2017, Google cut off the API connection of its map service for those Iranian sites that used the ir domain. At that time, the error check for Google Maps access on the developer page was accompanied by the following explanation: “The website or application in question has been blocked due to non-compliance with Google Maps rules.”
At that time, there was still no high-quality native alternative to this map and routing service, and the blocking of ir domains caused serious problems for map-oriented businesses, especially smaller startups.
But finally, the problem of blocking the Google Map API service for Iranian IPs, which was raised in the cyberspace in the past weeks, has been resolved.
