According to Fars News Agency’s health reporter, Marzieh Vahid Dastjardi, sub-specialist of gynecological diseases and member of Iran Academy of Medical Sciences, referring to HPV disease or human papilloma, said: HPV is a disease that has been confirmed to be transmitted through sexual intercourse. Of course, there are other ways of transmitting this disease, but the transmission through sexual relations is definitely confirmed.

He continued: Now 200 types of HPV have been identified, but the most dangerous and common types of this disease are 2 types 16 and 18, which are responsible for 70% of cervical cancers and 90% of anal cancers.

Dastjerdi said: This shows how dangerous HPV types 16 and 18 can be, and the best way to prevent it is to use the vaccine for this disease.
