At the beginning of this ceremony, Mostafa Jamali, CEO of the Blood Transfusion Organization, reviewed last year’s performance and plans for the next year and said: 1401 was a good year despite all the problems. He emphasized: The average distribution of blood at the request of medical centers has increased from 85% to 100%, and blood reserves have increased to an average of 8-10 days.
Jamali said: Currently, 60% of the used blood bags are filtered, and the Thalassemia Association has asked the Minister of Health and Medical Education to commend the Blood Transfusion Organization for providing the blood needed by Thalassemia loved ones.
The CEO of the Blood Transfusion Organization said about the upcoming plans: NAT test and antibody screening have been left on the ground and should be implemented.
He added: HLA and tissue compatibility tests that are performed on cord blood samples and Sepas center are one of our duties according to the organization’s statutes and should be upgraded from 35,000 to a much higher level.
Referring to the importance of updating the coagulation laboratory, he said: We should also increase the supply of filtered blood bags.
Jamali considered reaching the blood donation rate of more than 26 per thousand people as one of the other achievements of last year and added: The women’s donation index increased by 11% in 1401, but we still need to witness further growth.
He called the decrease in the number of young people’s blood donation alarming and said: “The culture of donating blood among the youth should be institutionalized.”
Referring to the importance of the social dimension of blood donation, Jamali said: In the middle of 1401, the formation of the social deputy in the blood transfusion organization was approved and implemented, and so far this deputy has brought 450 billion tomans in cash, property and equipment, and we hope that this trend will increase.
The CEO of the Blood Transfusion Organization also announced the launch of a molecular laboratory and the development of blood subgroup diagnosis and said: I hope we will soon see good things in the aforementioned fields.
Referring to the challenge of manpower and budget, Jamali said: With the amendment of the budget by the Islamic Council, we hope to have good payments to the employees.
He emphasized: In the implementation of the statement of the supreme leader of the revolution regarding the importance of production this year, we hope to be able to achieve the goal of producing 250 thousand liters of plasma, and in this regard, we will also take help from the audit of domestic companies to monitor the standards of plasma production, and we will not be limited to foreign companies. .
The CEO of the Blood Transfusion Organization announced the goal of increasing plasma production by 20% and said: The appointment system should also be changed in a way that will be effective in the proportional distribution of donors in all days of the year.
Jamali announced the improvement of the software of the Blood Transfusion Organization to record and analyze the statistics of blood donation and products and said: We expect the Social Vice President to implement this task by the end of 1402.
