According to Fars News Agency’s Salamat reporter, Parvaneh Ezzati, head of the country’s air emergency department, said in an interview with Diavogo Radio: Since Iran is the tenth most accident-prone country in the world and the sixth country in Asia, on the other hand, the number of traffic accidents and inaccessible areas in Iran is also very high. Therefore, it is not possible to provide emergency medical services only with the ground fleet.

Pointing out that air emergency services provide services to cover emergency medical services along with ground emergency, he added: Air emergency in Iran and the world is a new and young service whose first base was established in Tehran in 2019.

The head of the air emergency of the country listed the benefits of the air emergency of the country as the quick delivery of the patient to the medical center, the transfer of equipment during accidents, the transfer of transplanted organs and the transfer of medical specialists to hard-to-reach areas.

Ezzat said: In 2018, six helicopters for air emergency services were imported from Germany, they are light weight and have two engines, and they do not have any legal restrictions to fly in the city and can land on the roads.

He added: These helicopters are currently being used in European countries, but now they have switched to more advanced helicopters, and we hope that we will import helicopters for these services into the country.
