The Washington Post reports that the United States has warned Saudi Arabia that Mohammad bin Salman should be held responsible for the assassination of critical Saudi journalist Jamal Khashgeji.

According to Sputnik, the Washington Post quoted Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed as “extremely angry” at US policy that could not be predicted.

He suggested to US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan that a security agreement between the two countries be signed with the seal of Congress to strengthen US-UAE relations, and that Washington was considering the issue. Ben Zayed, a new Arab policy maker, has complained to Jake Sullivan that the US withdrawal from Afghanistan has hurt the UAE; Because a number of Emirati people were killed there.

The Washington Post continued: “Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also complained to Sullivan about why the United States did not appreciate his role in modernizing Saudi Arabia and increasing women’s rights.” U.S. officials have responded that the two parties to the congressional hearing about that were exactly where the human rights situation came from.

“Mohammad bin Salman remains a point of tension in US-Saudi relations,” the newspaper added. Sullivan reiterated warnings that Mohammed bin Salman should be held responsible for the assassination of critical Saudi journalist Jamal Khashgeji, who was assassinated at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

The United States is working with UN Special Envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg to implement a new peace plan in Yemen, after which the Saudis will allow the United Nations to monitor the port of Al-Hudaidah and Sanaa Airport. In return, Saudi Arabia calls on Ansarullah to establish a ceasefire.

The Washington Post reported that all US allies in Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Cairo said during Sullivan’s recent visit to the Middle East that they were disappointed with the irregular US foreign policy.
