The director of “Moqds Nama”: Some people had books about the Hojatiye Association, but they did not cooperate with us

According to the art reporter of Fars News Agency, the documentary “Maqds Nama” directed by Abbas Kanani is a work of the film ambassador about the activities of the Hojjatiyeh Association, which was unveiled at the beginning of September and is scheduled to appear in various festivals.
Before the victory of the revolution, the Hojjatiye Association started its activities with the aim of fighting Baha’ism and was able to attract the attention and support of the great religious figures of that time. After the passage of time and the true nature of this group was revealed, the characters supporting it, one by one, withdrew their support from them and declared their innocence. The religious appearance of the members of the Hojjatiye Association was one of the reasons that it was able to attract religious people.
The Hojjatiye Association continued its activities inside the country until a few years after the revolution, but it was openly criticized many times because of its positions against the Islamic Republic, until finally on August 5, 1362, after the speeches Imam Khomeini (RA), this association was officially closed and announced in a statement that it will no longer be active.
Conflict between political and secular Islam
Abbas Kanani, the director of this documentary, considers “Maqds Nama” as an image of the confrontation between political Islam and secular Islam, a subject for which there is almost no video archive, and the video archives were also obtained from the documentary they made.
The director of “Moqds Nama” also said about the details of the production of this documentary: It took 14 months to research this documentary and 10 months to make it, which took two years in total. During the construction of the project, we came across some confidential documents that we were not allowed to access; We tried to attend the meetings of this association several times, but we encountered security obstacles. When we went to the members of the Hojjatiyah Association, they kept telling us not to ruin your afterlife by doing this.
Kanani added: About the Hojjatiye Association, the archive that we had was mostly photos, and there is almost no video archive of them. We also obtained these image archives from the documentary they made themselves. There were no photos, videos, or audio from the Hojjatiye Association in the Radio and Television Archives and Records Center that we could easily access.
Many refused to talk
He continued: We called many people for expert talks. Many people did not want to talk when they heard the name of Hojjatiyeh Association. While some of them even had books on this topic, but by declaring that we do not have expertise, they would dismiss this issue from their minds. For this reason, we only have three interviews in this documentary, and most of the harsh words are related to Abbas Saliminim.
Hojjatiye Association has defined several layers of security for itself
The director of the documentary “Moqds Nama” while referring to the security layers of the Hojjatiyeh Association also pointed out: We initially wanted to address the present day of the Hojjatiyeh Association, but we encountered the sensitivity of some security institutions. Even the forum itself has defined several layers of security for itself that when we tried several times to attend their meetings with fake membership in this forum, we did not succeed. In the security layers, they easily extracted our media history and found out that we are affiliated with revolutionary institutions.

Kanani added: Hojjatiye Association is known for being very sensitive to their organizations and they do not allow strangers to enter their group. This forum is still active but they don’t operate in a formal way and sometimes you have to follow a speech and pulpit to realize that they are saying the same things. They even have their own religious ceremonies and delegations, which sometimes the general audience enters, but no one realizes their true nature. In Tehran, most of them are concentrated around the north of the city.
