The failed relationship between Apple, Android and iMessage
According to Aetna from Isna, Apple announced that it will continue to make changes in the future to support its users. The news then announced that the Beeper Mini app, which allowed iMessage to be activated on Android devices, was down. iMessage service enables encrypted messages between iPhone, Mac, iPad and other Apple devices. The company has resisted requests to expand the service to Android for about a decade.
Some users say that the lack of iMessage application for Android weakens the security of messages between the two platforms. Apple has just announced that it will support Rich Communication Service (RCS) next year. This service replaces the standard SMS service that improves the experience of sending messages between the two platforms.
Eric Magikowski, the creator of the “Beeper Mini” application, announced that he had not heard anything from Apple about his service. He offered a monthly subscription of $1.99 for this application. Apple does not charge a fee for using iMessage on devices manufactured by this company.
Apple said it cannot confirm that messages sent through unauthorized systems that hide the use of Apple Credentials are actually encrypted. Other services, including Sunbird, have previously tried to enable iMessage on Android, but those attempts have been blocked by Apple.
Despite adding RCS support next year, Apple executives have publicly and privately sidelined the idea of making it easier for iOS and Android users to communicate. Last year, Apple CEO Tim Cook suggested buying an iPhone for a user who wanted to more easily message his mother on Android.
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple’s operating system will be more open next year in the European Union because under the Digital Markets Act, the US company is required to allow independent app stores to operate in the region.
