The first cell product for the treatment of “vitiligo” entered the list of drugs

According to Fars News Agency’s health correspondent, Masoud Vosough, director of the Reconstructive Medicine Department of the Royan Research Institute, stated in the “Rozaneh” program on Radio Goftgoo: “In the current century, we are witnessing the improvement of health services and the advancement of human knowledge in health-related fields.”
He added: “The output of this progress and promotion of health is to increase the level of life expectancy in all human societies so that the level of life expectancy in this century compared to previous years and centuries has increased significantly and significantly.”
The director of the Department of Reconstructive Medicine at the Royan Research Institute said: “As life expectancy increases and societies age, the rate of disability due to old age and degenerative diseases that affect the organs and body system increases greatly, but the knowledge of reconstructive medicine as an interdisciplinary science It pursues two main goals: repairing and replacing damaged tissues, and with these two approaches, we can help increase people’s level of satisfaction with their lives.
Regarding the achievements of the research institute in this field, Vosough stated: Reconstructive medical knowledge has two main wings; Stem cell wings and tissue engineering wings, these two wings help to achieve the two goals of repairing and replacing damaged tissues.
He added: “The knowledge of stem cells helps to mass-produce different types of cell lines for replacement, and the knowledge of tissue engineering also creates a suitable scaffold for implanting the produced cells.”
“We first created embryonic stem cells in 2004 at the Royan Research Institute and the West Asian region,” Vosough said.
He added: “After achieving success in basic sciences and creating different cell lines, in the next phase we must bring the knowledge to the stage of commercialization and use and examine the cell under the process of clinical trial, which lasts between 6 to 12 years.”
The director of the Reconstructive Medicine Department of the Royan Research Institute said that these processes are carried out under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration in the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and that various departments of the organization are involved in this work. We treated the autoimmune and genetic disease “vitiligo”.
