Samsung uses the SM8550-AC chipset in the Galaxy S23 series, which is a version of the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with the model number SM8550-AB. Compared to the standard version, this chip has a higher frequency CPU and GPU. Qualcomm has released AC versions of its chips several times in the past, but apparently only Samsung is using them this year.

Currently, we do not know for sure whether other Android phone manufacturers will get the overclocked version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or not. Of course, Qualcomm will probably unveil the Plus version of this chip later this year and make it available to all companies.

Samsung continues to work on a powerful chip
