Global disruption to Microsoft services

Microsoft did not announce the number of users whose access to the company’s services was disrupted, but statistics from the Down Detector monitoring website showed that more than 3,900 cases of access disruption were reported in India and more than 900 cases in Japan. Reports of access disruptions also increased in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.

According to Aetna from ISNA, Site Down Detector monitors the outage of sites and services by collecting reports from various sources, including error reports sent by users.

We have identified a potential network issue and are reviewing the telemeter to determine the next course of action to resolve the issue, Microsoft tweeted. Microsoft’s Azure cloud service also sent a tweet about the network problem and announced: A number of users have faced problems on this platform.

During the disruption, most users of Microsoft services were unable to exchange messages, join video conversations, or use the features of the Teams app. Many users started sending news about the Microsoft service disruption on Twitter and the Microsoft Teams hashtag trended on this social network site.

Microsoft Teams has more than 280 million users worldwide and is an integral part of the daily activities of businesses and schools, who use the service to communicate, schedule meetings, and organize workflows.

According to a Reuters report, other Microsoft services that experienced disruption included Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft 365 and Xbox Live.
