The iPhone 14 Pro will likely come with a USB-C port

Following reports of EU charging rules for electronic devices, some informed sources say that Apple will likely launch the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with a USB-C port.

Since 2021, Apple has been offering iPhones with a Lightning port that offers USB 2.0 speeds. The Cupertino-based tech giant seems to be finally here Intends Add USB-C port to iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

As it turns out, the ProRes quality of the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max takes up a lot of space on the device. When users connect these phones to their PCs to output ProRes videos, transferring files takes a long time due to the USB 2.0 transfer speed. For example, transferring a 420GB 4K video will probably take about 3 hours and 45 minutes.

However, if a USB-C port is used to transfer the same file, it will take about 3 minutes to transfer them.

Also, according to a new law proposed by the European Union and requested by the Biden government, all future devices, including iPhones, must have a USB-C port, and companies will likely be fined if they do not comply. This could be another reason why the next-generation iPhone will likely ship with a USB-C port.

Apple also launches its iPhones without chargers for environmental reasons. The tech giant believes that users can use the chargers of older models and therefore stopped offering them. For this reason, having iPhones with USB-C port can mean that in the future, for all phones on the market, such as the iPhone, one type of adapter and charging cable will be used.
