Avini, in the guise of an expert journalist, pious documentary maker, diligent director, and innovative writer, by writing authoritative articles, editing effective books, and preparing useful and lasting documentaries, stood high in the sky of the era of holy defense and became a companion of the stars.

Martyr Seyed Morteza Avini was born in Shahrivar 1326 in the city of Ray. He completed his primary and secondary education in the cities of Zanjan, Kerman and Tehran, and then entered the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University as an architecture student.
He was in love with art since he was a child; He writes poetry, writes stories and articles, and paints. He also completed his university studies in a field that was compatible with his artistic nature, but after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he abandoned architecture and started filmmaking as required by the revolution.
Seyyed Morteza Avini died on 20th of April 1372 in Fakah while making a documentary and TV series on the narrative of Fatah. Martyr Seyyed Morteza Avini’s body was buried on the 22nd of Farvardin in the presence of the Supreme Leader and funeral artists and writers in Gulzar Shahadai Behesht Zahra (PBUH).

* The beginning of Avini’s filmmaking

Shahid Avini started filmmaking at the beginning of the victory of the revolution by making several series about Ghaele Gonbad (Six Days in the Turkmen Sahara series), Khuzestan Flood and Zelm Khanin (Khan Ghazideha documentary series).
The jihad group was the first group that went to the front immediately after the war started. Two of the group members were captured in Qasr Shirin in the same days of the war, and the third one, who was shot in the shoulder, escaped from the siege ring. This group was formed again and entered the city during the days of the Khorramshahr siege to make a film.
The work of the Jihad group continued on the fronts, and with the beginning of the Wal-Fajr 8 operation, it found a completely coherent and interconnected form. On the second day of May 1372, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said in a meeting with the family of Martyr Avini: May God bless this Martyr with the Prophet. I really don’t know how a person can express and interpret his feelings in such a situation? Because there is no one kind of feeling in the human heart. In a martyrdom incident like the martyrdom of this dear martyr, there are several feelings together. One is the feeling of sadness and regret for not having someone like Seyed Morteza Avini. But there are several other feelings associated with this, and it is very difficult to separate them from each other and recognize each one and express them.

In any case, we hope that the Almighty God will bless his survivors, their father, their mother, their wife, and their children. May all of them console you who have the greatest sadness and the heaviest grief. Because except with divine consolation, the heart that sees such a gem separated from itself will not really find peace. Only Almighty God should and does console.

* How Seyyed Morteza Avini was martyred

Saeed Ghasemi, as a narrator about Seyyed Morteza Avini’s martyrdom, says: On Friday, April 20, 1372, we went with Fatah and Seyyed Morteza’s narration group to make a documentary. When the children stepped on a mine, an explosion occurred, a Valmeri mine exploded and Seyed Morteza and Yazdan Parast fell to the ground, I was also injured, I was confused and shocked; Asghar Bakhtiari came over Seyed Morteza’s head and said, don’t be afraid, Mr. Seyed, nothing happened (even though everything was bloody and the legs were cut off).


Martyr Avini moments before martyrdom

According to this warrior of holy defense, Seyyed Morteza himself returned very easily and said: Asghar, what should I be afraid of, we came for this talk, (very comfortable and not to play roles) we started with shoelaces and leg belts. Tie him up to stop the bleeding.

Seyyed Morteza called his mother Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) in this situation and said: O Fatima Zahra or Fatima Zahra… then he would mumble this dua three times (Allah, make the death of martyrdom in the mustache) three times.

The blood was pouring like this and he was restless; The stretcher was small, Sid’s head fell down, he couldn’t breathe easily, while we weren’t paying attention and we were just trying to move him with a corner and a hand-made stretcher; Morteza couldn’t bear it anymore and suddenly raised his head and said God forgive all my sins and make me a martyr.
This was the last mention of Seyed and after that he went into a coma until we brought him into the car. We quickly turned back; After 40 minutes, we arrived at the first field emergency to take Sayed and Yazdan Parast inside for artificial respiration; But he didn’t answer anymore.

* Establishment of Fatah narrative cultural institute

At the end of 1370, “Fath Narration Cultural Institute” was established by order of the Supreme Leader to work on documentary and cinematographic filmmaking about the holy defense and to continue preparing the collection of Fatah Narration, which was abandoned after the adoption of the resolution.
Shahid Avini and the group of cameramen resumed the narration of Fatah’s journey to the war zones and in less than a year, they finished the production of six programs from the 10-part series “City in the Sky” and the preliminaries of the production of other series about Abadan, Sosangerd, Hoyzeh. A city in the sky, which dealt with the siege, fall and recapture of Khorramshahr, was broadcast on TV in the last months of Martyr Avini’s earthly life, but his plan to complete this collection and build other collections with his martyrdom on Friday, April 20, 1372, in the Feke slaughterhouse was not completed. stayed

He considered the knowledge of the philosophical foundations and the historical course of the new culture and civilization to be one of the tools to deal with the cultural invasion, because this knowledge provides the basis for exiting the western and westernized world and helps to expand the culture and divine thinking. He believed that with the occurrence of the Islamic revolution and the emergence of a perfect human being like Imam Khomeini (RA), humanity has entered a new historical covenant, which he calls the “Age of Repentance of Humanity”.
