Hojjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Ahmed Mortazavi Moghadam, in his meeting with Vychslav Lebedov, President of the Supreme Court of Russia, pointed out the growing trend of bilateral relations, and emphasized on the development of these relations in the judicial field along with other sectors.

In this meeting, the President of the Supreme Court presented the draft text of the proposed bilateral memorandum with the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation to his Russian counterpart, which was welcomed by the Russian side.

In the continuation of this meeting, referring to Iran’s membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, he emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in the fight against organized and terrorist crimes.

Lebedov, the head of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, also stated in this meeting that Moscow is seeking to develop relations with Tehran and said: We are ready to review Iran’s proposed draft for the development of bilateral judicial relations and to strengthen cooperation.

The President of the Supreme Court of the country arrived in Russia on Monday evening at the invitation of the President of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation with the aim of talking and exchanging opinions with the judicial authorities of this country.

The Director General of the Department of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation will visit the President of the Supreme Court at his residence on Tuesday. Meeting with the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation is another official program of this trip.

Hojjatul Islam Mortazavi Moghadam will also meet with the head of the State Duma of Russia, as well as the Minister of Justice and the head of the arbitration court in Moscow on Wednesday, May 27.

Separate meetings with the President of the Constitutional Court and the President of the Third Court of Appeal of Russia are planned for Thursday by the President of the Supreme Court in St. Petersburg.

Hojjatul Islam Mortazavi Moghadam will leave Moscow for Tehran on Friday at the end of his trip to Russia.

The Chief Justice of Tehran Province, the Deputy Superintendent of the Supreme Court, the Head of the Presidency and the Head of the 33rd Branch of this Court are other members of the Iranian judiciary on the trip to Moscow.

Before this, Hojjatul Islam Mortazavi Moghadam had traveled to Moscow and met with his Russian counterpart at the 10th national meeting of judges and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian Supreme Court.
