The mission of the “Nourengar” festival is to show the beautiful Iran / appreciation for the efforts of the medical staff

According to the visual correspondent of Fars News Agency, the press conference of the 7th Nourengar Photo Festival was held before noon today (Monday, November 31).

Mohammad Foroughi, CEO of Nourengar, said at the beginning of the meeting: “The events of big companies such as Apple, Samsung, Tesla, etc. are covered in the local media, but the internal events remain unreflected and they pay for it.”

He added: “We have put all our efforts for a beautiful and proud Iran and the main center of our vision is” my Iran “. I thank God that we have continued in these seven years and Corona has not stopped it.

Foroughi, while thanking Afshin Bakhtiar, Dariush Mohammadkhani and Massoud Afshani who have accompanied the Nourengar Festival during these years, added: “Mr. Afshani is the secretary of the festival and we will award 84 million Tomans in this period.” The judges of this period are also selected from young photographers and we hope that youthfulness will spread in different sections.

He continued: “The number of our employees before and after Corona has increased from 20 to 70, all of whom are young.”

* We are launching a photo agency

Nournegar CEO emphasized: We provide our facilities to the associations for free. We also have online tutorials.

Foroughi said: “So far, there are about 60,000 photos in our archive, and we are trying to launch the Noornagar Photo Agency in the next 3 years, when the number of our photos reaches 100,000.”

Masoud Afshani, the secretary of the festival, also said: “In 1999, due to the corona peak, we did not hold the festival so that photographers would not be in a difficult situation.” But this year, we have considered the issues of the day, and our main part is dedicated to the medical staff and in a way, celebrating them.

He added: “In the side section, which is creative photography, we pay attention to the less discussed subject, which is not necessarily real photography, but a combination of creativity in photography.”

Afshani stated: “This year, we raised the prize ceiling and applied a different point of view to the judges.” There is an opportunity to send photos until November 12, and so far, we have had a good reception. A rich archive of the previous 6 festivals has been collected and can be used in research.

The secretary of the 7th Noornegar Photo Festival said: “Most photo festivals usually do not reach the 7th period, but we have been able to maintain it with effort, and our intention is to see Noornegar as a cultural movement, not just a private photography festival.”

* Most photography festivals are not up to date

Afshin Bakhtiar, a veteran photographer and member of the policy council of the Noornagar Photo Festival, said: “I have been by the side of Noornagar since its inception and I have seen its efforts.” I have done industrial photography with most of the big companies in car manufacturing, dam construction, oil, etc., but whenever I offered, most of them usually did not do anything for Iranian art.

Bakhtiar stated: In many festivals that I was a judge, I saw that the festival finally reached the third period and then was canceled.

Dariush Mohammadkhani, another policy-making member of the Noornagar Photo Festival, continued the meeting: “Unfortunately, universities are not up-to-date in terms of holding photography festivals.” While major photography awards such as Photokina and Pulitzer work and make up-to-date decisions.

He added: “By learning the corona, we decided to remember its blessings instead of retribution.” For example, photograph the blessings of life and small hopes and be reminded. Especially since the Nournegar Festival is not a photo show, it is a culture building.

Mohammadkhani said: “We considered techniques such as HDR and panorama that have been added to the cameras, and we considered the creative photography section, in which it is possible to participate in two sections: single photo and photo collection (maximum 8 pieces).”

He pointed out: It has become difficult to set up a photo exhibition and each exhibition costs about 80 million tomans.

“We have good photographers in Iran, but we have not yet been able to raise ourselves internationally, especially in documentary photography,” said Fatemeh Behboodi, the festival’s judge.

He added: “At a time when sanctions are affecting our country, the photo can show its effects on people’s lives to the world and change views and bring hearts closer together.”

The photographer continued: In judging the photos, we do not know the names of the photographers and we try to maintain our independence. Personally, I am looking for photos that have a different creativity and look.

In the end, Behboodi expressed his hope that the flow of Iranian photography will be more active in the future.
